Hi everyone, my name is Amy Marks. Thank you so much for checking out my new blog about my fitness and weight loss experiences. If you read any of my older blog (which is no longer active) you will know that I wasn’t always as thin as I am now. I actually used to be what nice people might call a “big girl”. By “big girl” I mean I was weighing in close to 200 pounds at the peak of my weight gain. It’s still a work in progress and I’ve got a ways to go, but I’m super excited to help inspire women around the world to start taking control of their lives and get in to the shape that they really want.
I’m not saying that you shouldn’t love your body for what it is. But for the sake of your health, if you’re overweight like I was, you owe it to yourself to try and get healthier, which includes losing some weight, working out and eating better. Do it for yourself, your kids whatever. Just find the motivation to do it.
I get asked so much about how I got started and how I was able to drop the first 50-60 pounds. This is by far the most difficult part. I’m not going to BS you though. I did use some appetite suppressant supplements and a few metabolism boosting products at the beginning. A couple of these products were able to get me losing weight at the start, which is exactly what I needed to keep myself motivated. I’ve since moved on to some High Intensity Interval Training several times a week and I’m combining that with the occasional Yoga & Pilates class. I truly believe this will help get me very close to my target weight. But I completely understand that seeing results in the beginning is very important to keep yourself in the game. Most women give up after just a few weeks when they don’t see any measurable weight loss.
So How Did I Get Started?
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past several years, you’ve probably seen a lot of ads on TV and magazines for all sorts of weight loss tricks, pills, diets etc. When I finally decided I needed to start losing weight, I figured I’d try one of the green coffee bean diet products on the market. I honestly can’t even remember the name. I used it for a few weeks and saw zero benefit. Ok, I wasn’t really watching what I was eating at the time, so it’s probably my fault it didn’t help at all. So I started walking a few times a week. I also began keeping a better eye on my daily snacks and meal portions and guess what; I lost a few pounds. Yay! This was great, but it slowly tapered off and I only lost 6-7 pounds in the first couple weeks. This is when I looked into some other supplements and found something called pure forskolin extract.
So What Is Pure Forskolin Extract?
I have to admit that I was skeptical from the beginning, having had zero luck with the green coffee bean stuff. I had never heard of forskolin extract before this, even though it’s been around for hundreds of years. Basically it’s an extract from a plant in the mint family. Asian and Indian cultures have been using it for years to help control appetite and boost metabolism. I still wasn’t entirely convinced it wasn’t a scam, but seeing as that I was still 100+ pounds overweight, and my current plan just wasn’t getting the job done, I figured I’d break down and give it a shot. How Forskolin Works for Weight Loss
It’s surprisingly simple actually. Forskolin contains an enzyme called Cyclic AMP or cAMP. This enzyme takes the extra sugar in your body, that would normally be converted into fat cells, and stops that process from happening. It actually takes those carbohydrates and turns them into additional energy instead. So basically you’re not putting on the additional weight, plus you’re gaining an energy boost in the process. I still kept up my walking regimen and watching my diet, but it took me about 6 months and I had lost my first 50 pounds. I think the forskolin reached it’s peak at about that point, because from there, I wasn’t losing as much per week, but it was still a steady 5 pounds every 7-10 days. I’m now down to about 130 pounds and I can’t tell you how excited I am. I will be completely happy with my body at around 120 pounds. I’m 5’8″, so that’s about a perfect weight for my size.
My Advice To You
First, make the commitment today to start eating better and exercising, even if it’s only a couple times a week.
